Hey, guys, thought I'd fill you in on the latest.

This afternoon, our office received a fax from Clark Carr, president of Narconon International. Mr. Carr had been sent copies of some of my work and the letter we received from Susan Webb and (more importantly) our editor's response.

As usual for these people, the letter tried to shed doubt on my research, blah, blah, blah, then went on to DIRECTLY CONTRADICT the stuff that the Narconon reps said when they visited us: specifically, Mr. Carr emphasized a direct connection with the church, rather than denying it, which was what the minions did.

All of this was phrased in an inflammatory, tattletale way designed to get me in trouble with my editor, which, also typically, was poor strategy, since Mr. Carr didn't seem to understand that my editor was both present and played an active part in those meetings.

Mr. Carr was also under the mistaken impression that I had written the EDITOR's note regarding Mrs. Webb's letter, which chronicled the lies and contradictions of what she wrote, as well as the inherent ignorance of the fact that a) she was basing ALL of her information on my OPINION column, and b) that she was unaware that my front page stories even EXISTED.

All of this is leading up to a story we have planned in the near futue, which will simply be a detailed listing of all of the lies both camps have insisted upon telling us. I find it inconceivable that these folks haven't caught on to the fact that they're burying themselves by destroying any hope they have of credibility with every sentence they speak or write.

Also, a short time ago, someone sent me an e-mail containing a specific passage from an LRH work which stated specifically that the public needed to be lied to in order to be control. I accidentally lost the e-mail, but would love to excerpt segments of that work. If the person who sent it would be nice enough to send it, they would have my unending gratitude.

As always, I'll keep you guys posted...
